• Following on from the earlier look at the vaccine fridge, this film shows what else is inside it.
• The two thermometers on the fridge are not simply thermometers — together they are a 24-hour alarm system.
• If the fridge falls below 2.5°C or rises above 7.5°C, they send an alert to the mobile phone of the centre’s vaccine officer, who can come back and check.
• So even after hours, with nobody on the premises, the fridge is held between 2°C and 8°C.
• The four boxes inside are part of the centre’s unbroken cold chain: when you come for a vaccination, the vaccine is taken from the fridge into a small cold box, carried to the vaccination room, and taken out only at the moment it is given.
